One among my bragging points are, that I am from a Dravidan State which kept
oldest living language (Ref : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_language
) alive till this date , which is 15000 years old !!!!
But the unfortunate fact is , this information is unknown to most Indians and they debate or expect that every Indian should speak hindi. Since my childhood, I was reluctant to choose Hindi as my 3rd language, but preferred to learn German or Sanskrit. Thanks to my roots, who gave me that confidence and influenced me strong! I just love that aspect of mine and would pass to my next generation!
I believe Indian Govt should help to keep this language live and encourage Indians to learn this language , which is official language in other countries like Srilanka, Singapore, Medium of education in Malaysia, And native to Phillipines, Mauritius, Andaman & Nicobar islands, Thailand, Indonesia, whereas the origin is TAMILNADU!
